What is Sadula Rose Montessori?
Sadula Rose Montessori is an independent micro-school on the West Side of Buffalo, NY, that serves children ages 2.10 months-6. Our school offers a culturally inclusive, liberatory education that puts children and families at the center and works in partnership with the community.
Sadula Rose Montessori is nestled within a vibrant diverse community. Our home is located within a registered historical building known as "The Old Milk Company," originally built in 1905. It has since undergone extensive renovations and has a modern and warm appeal. Our school is approximately one block away from "The Peace Bridge" and across the bridge is Canada. The word Sadula is a word that comes from the Congolese region and literally means, "the baby-sitting spot." In line with its deeper meaning represented culturally, Sadula Rose is a sacred and warm space for children. Our school nurtures each child’s spirit while offering them the highest quality education. Having seen the power of Montessori education as parents and teachers, we’re passionate about bringing high quality Montessori to our community.
Sadula Rose Montessori School is a member of the Wildflower Network of schools, in Buffalo, New York. Wildflower is an ecosystem of decentralized Montessori micro-schools that support children, teachers, and parents. Wildflower aspires to give all children and families the opportunity to choose high-quality, beautiful learning environments as they follow life’s unfolding journey.
The needs of mankind are universal. Our means of meeting them create the richness and diversity of the planet. The Montessori child should come to relish the texture of that diversity.
- Dr. Maria Montessori
An authentic, liberatory, and culturally relevant Montessori school for our changing world.
Serving children ages 2.10 months - 6 years old
An Authentic Montessori School
The Montessori Method emerges from the belief that children are naturally good, peaceful and curious and that in the context of a supportive environment, all children engage instinctively in the work of self-construction. With appropriate freedoms and the right support, children follow their interests to create rich learning experiences, form peaceful communities, and support and learn from one another. We are dedicated to the preparation of environments and ourselves to support the development of children.
An Intentionally Small Community
As an intentionally-small, community embedded learning environment, our school allows us to serve every child and family in deep and meaningful partnership with their teacher leaders.
A Place for All
Sadula Rose Montessori admits students of any race, color, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.
